Have you read a good book lately?

Explore the christian library!

We are a bridge between your church library and the public library. Opened in 1982, we have over 6,000 books + audio and video cassettes, DVDs and CDs for loan.

To borrow books, all you need is an $18 per year membership. Material can be checked out for 3 weeks at a time. You don't need to be a member to read and study in one of our quiet rooms.

There are also computers and internet access available and books for sale.

  Adventures in Good Reading

A collection of over 50 Christian romance fiction was recently donated to the library and is now available for loan. This fiction is a good alternative to the secular romance novels that are available elsewhere. While some may not like to read this type of book, the research done by the authors to provide background to the stories does help to enrich the reader’s appreciation of history. Also, reading this type of literature sometimes leads to other types of reading.
Some of the books include:
The displaced belle by Dooly
Peace be still by Fowler
In search of Serenity by Griffin
A shepherd’s song by Moore

Another notable collection that we carry is books by local authors from the Called and Ready Writers Guild, founded by Minister Mary Edwards and President Mrs. Wanda Burnside.

In addition, may we recommend a good biography. Reading about the lives of Christians from the past helps to strengthen our own walk with the Lord. As Hebrews 13:7 says, “Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.” (NASV) Suggestion include:
John Newton: from disgrace to amazing grace by Jonathan Aitken
David Watson: a portrait by his friends edited by Edward England
Dietrich Bonhoeffer: pastor, martyr, prophet, spy by Erick Metaxas

Our Hours

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Closed Sunday, Monday, Friday
Call first - we are run by volunteers and cannot always be open.

We are reading evangelists.

Studies indicate that 10% of the American population reads 80% of the books. That's unfortunate because books are dynamic, powerful teachers, surrogate pastors, friends with whom to relax, mirrors for soul searching.
